Pangandaran: SFSC Bandung to the Rescue

pangandaran1After one week in Pangandaran, members of SFSC Bandung have been through several important events, from babysitting the abandoned children, helping the SARS team in lifting the dead bodies to being featured in the national television. Upgrading Companies’ Image through CSR

It is still very early, but the employees of Standard Chartered Bank Indonesia (SCB Indonesia) are very eager to clean up the Muara Angke conservation on Tuesday (8/1). Wearing gloves, their shoes covered in plastic bags, those men and women who usually smell expensive perfume, well-dressed, and wearing ties, do not seem reluctant to march on the sticky earth and collecting plastic trashes one by one. In less than two hours the entire inorganic trashes scattered on the protected forest owned by Jakarta administration has been collected in the available trashes bags.

Teachers might not be able to develop their own curriculum
Jakarta (Kompas: 01/08/06) Implementation of curriculum set up by each education entity starting this year is expected to meet the standard set for students’ evaluation. However, many fear that schools might find difficulties in its implementation due to teachers’ unpreparedness and schools limited operational funds. “With the new policy, teachers are given full authority to set out their own curriculum, ands students will be the subject," said education observer Ahmad Rizali in a media forum on “2006/2007 school year new curriculum: Can it answer standardized evaluation of students’ performance" held in Jakarta on Monday (07/31).
