There are many approaches that can be used in order to raise public awareness of SF programs. One type of approach implemented by SF Outreach team, was to fill one of the speaker slots at the KKMK KAJ camping event (Catholic Young Executive Community Jakarta Diocese). This camping was held on 12th – 15th October 2007 at Bumi Perkemahan Perbawati Cipelang Sukabumi.

From SMAN 1 PUNDONG BANTUL, Hand-in-hand to Improve Education Quality

Bantul (Kedaulatan Rakyat: (28/10/07) RINI and her comrades were busy with their experiment on electrolyte and non- electrolyte solution. Some of the 12th grade students were busy handling the tools, others checking the data, some other taking notes. They were testing the conductivity of various kinds of solution in the lab. Meanwhile, another group of students were doing other assignment in the lab for their chemistry subject. There was a small ‘explosion’ followed by laughter and astonishment form other part of the chemistry lab where some students were busy observing through their microscopes.

Jakarta, October 5, 2007: Rp 36 in education scholarships for needy Indonesian children was collected through Sampoerna Foundation’s United for Education fund raising drive during Plasa Senayan Social Week (14/09 – 07/10). During Social Week, which was also participated in by GNOTA, Dompet Dhuafa and Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa (YCAB), Sampoerna Foundation (SF) opened a United for Education booth. Through the data on education in Indonesia presented at that booth, SF convinced Plasa Senayan visitors to express their concern for education in Indonesia by buying various souvenirs or making a direct commitment to become a foster parent for a schoolchild.
