ACE Insurance Formalizes Assistance to 8 Schools in Yogyakarta

PT ACE INA Insurance, a part of ACE Group of Companies, a world leader in insurance and reinsurance, dedicated new educational facilities at 8 schools in Yogyakarta in fulfillment of their commitment to provide assistance of  US$ 100,000 or Rp 900 million collected by ACE Foundation to rehabilitate the education sector in Yogyakarta. This assistance, channeled through Sampoerna Foundation, has taken the form of the construction of laboratory facilities, the purchase of computer equipment and printers, as well as of for the school libraries.

Management Quality is Absolutely Necessary
Surabaya (Media Indonesia: (26/09/07) School management quality is absolutely necessary to improve teachers and students’ quality. So far, many schools are only focused on their status as ‘top schools’ without doing much effort to improve its management quality. This issue was raised by the head of secondary education office in Surabaya, Ruddy Winarko, while he was visiting state senior high school SMAN 19 Kenjeran Surabaya, on Tuesday (25/9). “Many schools are contended with their status as top schools,” Ruddy said.

Helping hand allows disadvantaged students to stand all
Jakarta (The Jakarta Post: (25/09/07) Even before it was devastated by a massive earthquake, SMAN 1 Pudong senior high school in Bantul regency, Yogyakarta had little to be proud of. The school was in a remote location and had few facilities. The quake, which devastated Yogyakarta and parts of Central Java in May last year, left the school with nothing. "We were forced to conduct class activities in tents following the earthquake," said deputy principal Madiyono, who oversees student affairs.
