Education is a key determinant in not only an individual’s success but also that of a nation. Education has the potential to teach an individual to think and analyze, the sensibility to differentiate rights from wrongs, and the ability to implement positive changes.

In countries such as Indonesia, however, education does not make a headline. Although showing signs of improvement, our government’s focus is still not on education. Consequently, even the most deserving individuals - those who may become the nation’s future leaders – can find it hard to gain access to this right due to economic constraints.

This is where Sampoerna Foundation, with the help of our donors, strives to make a difference - one scholar at a time. The Foundation awards applicants, who have passed through a rigorous selection process, tertiary level national and overseas undergraduate scholarships as well as national and overseas graduate MBA scholarships. Additionally, the Foundation offers enrollment into the Teacher Scholarship Program for those graduating from the Foundation’s USP schools.

It is our sincerest hope that the Sampoerna Foundation scholarship recipients will then compete successfully in both the domestic and international arenas, and push our country forward in creating a competitive global economy.
