This institute is the first private teacher institute in Indonesia that utilizes quality overseas curriculum and teaching methodology. For this program, Sampoerna Foundation Teacher Institute (SF TI) has built a strategic partnership with the National Institute of Education, Singapore’s premier center for teacher training in delivering world-class training. SF TI is also working with Edith Cowan University, Australia, to establish the Asia Pacific Centre of Excellence for Teacher Education and Innovation. SF TI’s “1000 Teacher Program”, “Adopt a Teacher for Professional Development” project, and “Teacher and Principal Sharing Network” are designed to increase the number of qualified teachers in Indonesia and to raise the teacher qualification standards which ultimately will develop a ripple effect in improving students’ academic performances across Indonesia.
