Development of "e-Indonesia"

Media Indonesia (16/09/06): The government will implement policies related to information technology application for multi-sectoral purposes, including education. President Yudhoyono has asked four renowned universities to draw up the strategic plan on the development of electronic Indonesia (e-Indonesia).

Those four universities are University of Indonesia (UI), Technology Institute of Bandung (ITB), November 10 Technology Institute of Surabaya (ITS), and Gajah Mada University (UGM). Director General of Telematics Application at the Ministry of Communication and Information, Cahyana Ahmadjayadi, explained that aside of those four universities, his ministry also invited the entire IT community to contribute on the development of e-Indonesia. “We hope IT implementation will improve this nation’s competency in the eye of international community,” said Cahyana, in Jakarta, yesterday.
