Jakarta (Bisnis Indonesia: 30/08/06) Former President Commissioner of PT HM Sampoerna Tbk, Putera Sampoerna, grants an education assistance totaling Rp1.5 trillion for development of education in Indonesia through Sampoerna Foundation (SF).Witnessed by Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Hidayat Nur Wahid, National Education Minister Bambang Soedibyo, Abdurahman Wahid (Gus Dur), and Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, SF also inaugurates its education centre at the Sampoerna Strategic Square in Jakarta, yesterday. “This is a new beginning of SF to improve the education quality in Indonesia by producing good curriculum, teachers and education administration,” Putera asserted. The Rp1.5 trillion funds, he said, will be spent in the upcoming three years through the existing program proposal. Putera who is also the founder of SF, hopes that the opening of the new classes and the new programs would hopefully put Indonesia among the big-50 in Asia business. |
