One of Sampoerna Foundation’s partners for Scholarship Program, Clariant, has visited its beneficiaries at SD Darul Hikam Tangerang on the 21st of April 2008. Representatives of Clariant Switzerland, Mr. Andrew Craven, Ms. Stefanie Nehlsen from Clariant Hongkong, Mr. Hans Herrel, the President Director of Clariant Indonesia and also representatives of Clariant Indonesia and Sampoerna Foundation, have a very insightful time visiting 4 scholars in person. They had a chance to have a chat, visited their class and also interviewed the teachers as well.

During this opportunity, the Clariant and SF representatives also visited the scholars’ houses in order to see their living condition and talked to their families. All of the 27 scholars supported by Clariant are living in the neighborhood of Tangerang. Most of them are orphans and now live with their sister or grandparents.

In addition to partnering with SF on these endeavors in Education, Clariant has also worked together with the United Nations World Food Programme as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.  The reason for the collaboration not only demonstrates Clariant’s commitment to give back to the community but also demonstrates its vision and mission to bring a brighter future for the next generation in Tangerang area.
