| Singapore Tourism Board Signs Scholarship MoU with Sampoerna Foundation |

The MoU was signed by Ms Magdalene Lee, Director for Singapore Education, Singapore Tourism Board, and Mr Elan Merdy, Chief Operating Officer of Sampoerna Foundation, at the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore. In addition, Singapore is recognised as a global business centre which makes it an ideal location to groom Indonesia’s future economic leaders. Besides studying, they can also build networks, which will be very useful when they enter the corporate world,” said Mr Merdy, Chief Operating Officer of Sampoerna Foundation. With her geographical and cultural proximity to Indonesia, Singapore offers the best of global education in a cosmopolitan, multicultural and safe environment that supports learning. The island is currently home to more than 7,000 multinational corporations, many of which are established regional headquarters. Active collaboration between these multinational corporations and top Singapore universities allows students a direct insight into the corporate world, providing them with invaluable networking opportunities through exchange programmes and industry attachments. Singapore has three internationally recognised local universities and 16 leading foreign institutions, offering degree and MBA programmes that are globally acclaimed and sought after. The Sampoerna Foundation – Singapore MBA scholarship programme will allow students entry to two of the local universities, both of which are ranked amongst the top 50 in the World University Rankings. The Scholarship Programme for two individuals will cover tuition fees, return airfares, fiscal tax, student visa application, GMAT and TOEFL reimbursement, note books, medical insurance, allowances for: living, moving and book for the maximum study duration of two years based on the program and university attended. Jakarta, 15th June 2006 - The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and the Sampoerna Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly launch two Masters of Business Administration (MBA) scholarships for outstanding Indonesian students to pursue full time study programmes at top MBA universities in Singapore. The two scholarships will allow financially disadvantaged Indonesian students to further their studies in top Singapore universities.
