| SFSCJ-Yayasan Mitra Netra: Volunteers for the 1000 Books for the Blind Program |
|
”The activities included the books’ typing (from regular books to Braille books) and the publication of the 1000 books to invite more volunteers from outside Jakarta to join this program. The purpose of the books typing is to give opportunity for the blind to experience reading books and enhancing their passion in reading books”, Riani Nurainah, the Coordinator of the social activity coordinator asserted.
Moreover, this activity is expected to strengthen the solidarity for blind people amongst the public. In two weeks time, SFSC Jakarta has typed at least ten popular books into Braille books for blind people. For this program, Yayasan Mitra Netra is also using a special software.
