The Sampoerna Legacy is a book about the history of the Sampoerna’s family, one of the most charitable families in Indonesia.

The book combines the personal history of the four generations of Sampoerna with the rise and fall of a family company, set along aside the cultural and political history of Indonesia.

It’s a tale of a Chinese Indonesian family that began with a humble beginning and struggled to transcend poverty, fires, death, destruction and financial crises in the pursuit of excellence.

Commissioned by Ms. Michelle Sampoerna (the eldest daughter of Mr. Putera Sampoerna – the third generation), the Book aims to preserve, in writing and pictures, her family’s perseverance, successes and travails over the past century in Indonesia. The book also serves as a recollection of and a wonderful reference about Indonesia’s history and culture. 

As the legacy of Sampoerna’s family, the Book is donated by Michelle Sampoerna to Sampoerna Foundation, a professional philanthropic organization that focuses on rectifying problems in the education sector in Indonesia.

The Book will be then be referred to "Your Gift for Education", as all profit generated from the sales of the Book will be channeled for the betterment of education in Indonesia.

"Your Gift for Education" is priced @ Rp 270.000,00 to maintain the auspicious number 9 that is repeatedly used in the Book.
