; "Click to see real size") Astro and the Usaha Tegas Group (the “Group”), through Inter Community Welfare Foundation, have donated US$ 1.5 million (approximately IDR 13.5 billion) to establish the BEASISWA ASTRO ASIH program to provide high school and undergraduate scholarships for Bali residents. SF has started to conduct the first recruitment process for high school level, which has been successfully completed this month. Fifty scholars have been recruited and they will able to pursue their future through this scholarship program.
SF team visited each of the scholar’s house and school in order to obtain a real picture of the scholar’s condition. The recruitment process was focused in four underprivileged regencies in North Bali. They are Buleleng, Bangli, Karang Asem and Klungkung regencies. These regencies were formally selected based on the statistic which refers to the financial disadvantaged population.
