Conference aims to improve teachers
Jakarta (The Jakarta Post: (15/11/07) Indonesian teachers will have a change to develop their teaching skills at the Indonesian Teachers Conference slated for Nov. 27 to 28 in Jakarta, an event sponsor said. "The goal (of the conference) is to improve teachers' skill, knowledge and confidence in exploring new approaches in teaching," director of the Sampoerna Foundation Teachers Institute, Kenneth J. Cock, told a media conference Wednesday. The conference will be jointly organized by the Sampoerna Foundation Teachers Institute, the Education Ministry and educational consultant Provision Education. As many as 1,000 teachers from across the country are expected to participate in the event, which will feature 10 teachers presenting papers before the plenary session of the conference. Some 40 local and foreign education experts will also attend.
