The purpose of the “Outreach Advisory Services” arm of the Sampoerna School of Education (SSE) is to share its knowledge base and expertise to providing both Government and private NGOs support and advisory services to their various educational initiatives.

Its main focus thus far has been in supporting government initiatives in their efforts to improve the performance of their teachers and principals and the upgrading the curricula, administration, and management of their schools.

As of December 2009, the Outreach Unit has arranged for its parent the SSE to provide programs of various degrees for the professional development for more than 14,000 teachers and principals from government and private schools across Indonesia. This initiative has been recognized by many local government education officers as providing valuable contribution to the improvement of the teaching force within their individual jurisdictions.

Furthermore, its initiatives to help state high schools wishing to upgrade their status to an international level has to‐date helped 17 state high schools and 5 Madrasahs (Islamic schools).
