Sampoerna School of Education was established in September 2009 as an integral part of the larger University project. The School of Education will be the first tertiary Faculty that will offer principally the 4‐year undergraduate Bachelor of Education (Bed) program. Subsequently, other appropriate training and professional development programs, including school leadership programs, will be offered. The School of Education will also enter into downstream innovative forms of curriculum and delivery strategies for teacher education.
With the aim of attracting the highest quality individuals to become leading educators in Indonesian society with an appropriate mix of sound academic and personal qualities, who will set the highest standards as future leaders in their profession. These educators will possess strong values to become good role models in their profession and in society and will be equipped with the highest order of teaching skills and quality practices that will make them highly employable and in high demand for both their personal attributes and their professional teaching qualities.
The School of Education will be positioned as an inclusive institution where teacher preparation and the subsequent development of teachers is conceptualized as a continuum. These principles are vital as teachers can only be regarded as 21st century knowledge professionals if they are lifelong learners and reflective practitioners.
SSE is the first private teacher institute in Indonesia that implements an international quality curriculum and teaching methodology. Through our strategic alliances with both international and local universities, we have developed a variety of programs for teacher/principal and school development. Key contributors include the National Institute of Education, Singapore, Edith Cowan University, Perth, Australia and Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.

- To position PSFU‐SE as an inclusive institution where teacher preparation and the subsequent development of teachers is conceptualized as a continuum.
Programs:
- To teach and grant degrees in Math and English for International standard Senior High School teachers.
- To provide these teachers additional training in other subjects so that (although not accredited) they can teach these other courses
- To work on increasing the portfolio of accredited degrees in other subject matters like biology, math, physics, chemistry, etc.
- To expand the curriculum upstream to include the training of Junior High and Elementary schools.
- Long term to expand the curriculum downstream into teachers and lecturers trained for tertiary education.
- On behalf of the its “Outreach” Unit, to enhance, develop and implement the courseware for teacher /principal professional development training.
