Putera Sampoerna
Former president commissioner of PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna and a number of its subsidiary companies. Mr. Sampoerna studied at the University of Houston and has always had a passion for education. He founded the Putera Sampoerna Foundation in 2001 and has been involved in philanthropic work throughout ASEAN for over 25 years. He founded and currently directs the Sampoerna Strategic Group, which has a global portfolio of diversified businesses.

Katie Sampoerna
Wife of Mr. Putera Sampoerna. She has been involved in charities and family philanthropic activities throughout ASEAN for over 25 years. Mrs. Sampoerna has been “on point” for numerous company design initiatives for Sampoerna family businesses, as well as for Putera Sampoerna Foundation. She directed the establishment of the Sampoerna Museum in Surabaya.

Jonathan Bradford Sampoerna
Eldest son of Mr. Putera Sampoerna, Mr. Jonathan Sampoerna received a degree in finance from Texas A&M University, and later worked in Hong Kong under the guidance of Dr. Marc Faber, an internationally renowned investment strategist. He also has directed the business development arm of the Sampoerna family trading companies.

Farah Khristina Sampoerna
Youngest daughter of Mr. Putera Sampoerna, Ms. Farah Sampoerna studied in Asia and the United States, receiving a degree in fashion design and merchandising at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. After initially working with a fashion house in New York, she has taken a sabbatical to raise her sons.

Michael Sampoerna
The youngest son of Mr. Putera Sampoerna. Formerly president director of PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna and president commissioner of a number of its subsidiary companies. Mr. Michael Sampoerna studied at the London School of Economics. Currently, he is the Sampoerna Strategic Group’s chief of operations.

Edward Frankel
Formerly the group chief operating officer and a director for PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna, Mr. Frankel has worked for Sampoerna companies for over 25 years. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master’s degree in administration from the University of Portland.

Jacqueline Michelle Sampoerna
Eldest daughter of Mr. Putera Sampoerna. Formerly communications manager at PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna and director of Sampoerna Jones Designs, Ms. Michelle Sampoerna received her bachelor’s degree in mass communication from St. Mary's College in California. She was "on point" with her father for all preliminary research and planning regarding the Putera Sampoerna Foundation and has led the foundation since its inception.

Ekadharmajanto Kasih
Formerly a director and chief financial officer of PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna, Mr. Kasih has spent over 25 years in financial control. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Indonesia, where he currently serves as an economics lecturer. Mr. Kasih is currently an independent commissioner of Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna, an executive at Sampoerna Strategic Group and president director of PT Sampoerna Agro.

Bambang Sulistyo
Mr. Sulistyo is a commissioner of PT Sampoerna Telekomunikasi Indonesia. He formerly served as commissioner of PT Sungai Rangit, as well as the Indonesian head of production and country head of Myanmar for PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna. He earned a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Dortmund in Germany.

Arief Tarunakarya Surowidjojo
Mr. Surowidjojo is a founding partner of the law firm Lubis Ganie Surowidjojo. He is a senior lecturer on the law faculty at the University of Indonesia and one of the founders and a former chairman of the supervisory board for Transparency International Indonesia. He received his bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Indonesia and master’s in law from the University of Washington in the United States.

Niken Rachmad
Ms. Rachmad joined PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna in 1998 as head of corporate communications, and was subsequently appointed communications director in 2006. In 2009, she was appointed as corporate affairs advisor, and was named a commissioner in January 2011. She has had a long distinguished career in journalism and public relations in Indonesia and the United States, including for Voice of America. At Ogilvy & Mather Indonesia, she pioneered its public relations division and introduced the concept of corporate social responsibility. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Gadjah Mada in 1972.

Yos Adiguna Ginting
Yos Adiguna Ginting began his career as manager for strategic alliances at PT Indah Kiat Pulp and Paper. He earned a Ph.D. in theoretical chemistry at the University of Tasmania in Australia in 1997. Mr. Ginting was eventually appointed to the position of vice president for trade alliances based in Singapore. He joined PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna in April 2002, and was named director of human resources in June 2003. In 2008, Mr. Ginting was appointed director in charge of corporate affairs.

Eliezer Marthenny Kaeng
A presidium representative of the Putera Sampoerna Foundation Alumni Association (PSFAA) from 2008 to 2010. He graduated cum laude from Bandung Institute of Technology with a degree in computer science. He received a scholarship from the Putera Sampoerna Foundation in 2005 to study for two years at the London Business School, University of London. He has held key positions with EGlobal Technology and currently serves as the vice president of Comexindo International.

Kemal A. Stamboel
Mr. Stamboel is the chairman of WWF Indonesia and a founding member of the Indonesian Society for Transparency (MTI). He also serves as independent commissioner at PT Holcim Indonesia and PT Titan Kimia Nusantara. Previously, he served as a supervisory member of the oversight committee of the Aceh-Nias Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Agency (BRR), and as a member of the National ICT Council. He has also served as a commissioner at PT Krakatau Steel and PT Merpati Nusantara Airlines. He received a master’s degree in business management from the Arthur D. Little School of Management in Boston, Massachusetts.

Robert Bong
Dr. Robert Bong has 35 years of experience in corporate leadership, and has served as chief executive and director of a number of publicly listed companies. He is currently the vice chancellor and chief executive of UCSI University in Malaysia. He serves as the entrepreneur-in-residence of the INSEAD business school in France and the Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship of the Singapore Management University. Dr. Bong also serves as advisor to T.A. Pai Management Institute of Manipal University in India and as co-chairman for the India Blue Ocean Strategy Research Center.

Nenny Soemawinata
Managing Director / Chief of the Foundation Executives
Former president director of Indo-Ad/Ogilvy & Mather, a leading advertising agency. Followed by a career in the TV industry, leading TV stations such as ANTV, RCTI and O Channel. Ms. Soemawinata is both a qualified trainer and a leading professional in marketing, sales and communications. She holds a degree in computer programming from the Auckland Technical Institute in New Zealand.

Elan Merdy
Senior Director / Foundation Secretary
Formerly manager of the business and financial consulting division at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, Mr. Merdy received his bachelor’s degree from the Philippines School of Business and his MBA from De La Salle University in the Philippines.

Sylvia Siregar
Chief Financial Officer
Formerly the Finance Director of PT Oracle Indonesia, Sylvia joined Putera Sampoerna Foundation in 2011 after 20 years of working experience in the area of finance, accounting, auditing and taxation in multinational company environment, which includes Ernst & Young and PT Accenture. She earned her MBA from Monash University, Australia and MM from the Indonesian Institute of Management Development.

Paulina Pannen
Dean of Sampoerna School of Education
Ms. Pannen, a professor of instructional technology, earned a post-graduate degree in educational technology at Syracuse University. Prior to becoming dean of the Sampoerna School of Education, she was a faculty member at Indonesian Open University (Universitas Terbuka) and director of the Regional Open Learning Center of the Southeast Asia Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO). She is involved in various school quality-improvement programs, writes in scholarly journals and speaks at national and international education forums.

Peter J. Hwang
Dean of Sampoerna School of Business (SSB)
Dr. Hwang has extensive experience as a researcher and teacher. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Fu-Jen Catholic University and an MBA from National Chengchi University, both in Taipei. He later earned a Ph.D. in business administration at Michigan State University in the United States. Before joining the Sampoerna School of Business, Mr. Hwang was a professor of international business at National Taiwan University and an associate professor with tenure until 2020 at the Department of Business Policy & Strategy at National University of Singapore.

Rini Tampi
Director of Scholarships and Student Loans
Formerly a general manager at PT Matahari Putra Prima, a leading department store in Indonesia, Ms. Tampi earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and an MBA from Golden Gate University.

Ari Kunwidodo
Sales Director
Mr. Kunwidodo earned a bachelor’s degree in computational mathematics at Institut Teknologi Bandung. He served as director of the OEM division of PT Microsoft Indonesia and was a managing director of PT Astrindo Senayasa before joining the Putera Sampoerna Foundation.

Sania Makki
Centralized Marketing and Communication Director
With over 23 years of diverse professional experience in advertising , marketing and sales of tv stations and retail brand , plus solid master degree teaching experiences under her belt, Sania recently joined Putra Sampoerna Foundation to lead its centralized marketing and communications department. She holds an MBA from Maastricht School of Management and an MM from Trisakti International Business School.

Charles Nagy
Head of MEKAR
Charles Nagy currently holds the position of CEO of MEKAR Entrepreneur Network, a Putera Sampoerna Foundation initiative launched with a primary directive of matching Indonesian Entrepreneurs with viable business ideas to qualified Angel Investors. Prior to his work in Indonesia, Charles Nagy served as the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) and Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Silatech in Doha, Qatar. Silatech is an NGO established to address the critical and growing need to create jobs and economic opportunities for young people in Qatar and throughout the Arab world. Charles earned his bachelor’s degree from Mohawk College in Ontario, Canada.
