Sampoerna School of Education

Sampoerna School of Education
With only 53 percent of the nation’s teachers meeting the standard requirements as of 2009, according to the Ministry of Education, it is imperative that those with the passion to teach gain the knowledge and skills necessary to make an impact on the lives of their students. The Sampoerna School of Education was founded in 2009 to create a new generation of Indonesian teachers, trained to the latest international standards, who are capable of teaching in English and Indonesian while employing cutting-edge technology. The Sampoerna School of Education selects candidates with strong values who have demonstrated the capacity to become a leader in the field of education. The school offers a four-year program leading to a bachelor’s degree in education, with emphasis on the teaching of English or mathematics to senior high school students. The program also offers an intensive, highly supervised school-placement service in which students develop competency in a variety of classroom settings, as well as professional career counseling and job placement.

Through strategic partnerships with the National Institute of Education, Singapore’s premiere center for teacher training, and universities around the world, including Massey University in New Zealand and Iowa State University in the United States, the Sampoerna School of Education aims to become one of the premiere institutes in the region. By providing a world-class education, the school can create future teachers who are able to educate the next generation of leaders and make a lasting contribution to society.
