As a part of the educator network sharing series, an initiative of Putera Sampoerna Foundation , Sampoerna School of Education held a discussion and book review titled “What I Wish I Knew at 18: Life Lesson for the Road Ahead” on Tuesday (31/7) at Sampoerna School of BusinessAuditorium, Pancoran campus, South Jakarta.
Dennis J. Trittin, a successful investment manager, educator, and book writer, was the speaker at this event. Dennis, who holds an MBAdegree from the University of Washington, USA, shared his experience in building his career and reaching his dreams. During his twenty-eight-year career at Russell Investments, he helped grow the firm's assets from $1 billion to $220 billion.
The book, illustratingfor readers how to become successful in important life areas, was inspired by Dennis’ two sons, especially the eldest, Michael. In the discussion, Dennis accentuated the key success factors of becoming a leader as highlighted by the theme of the event: "Developing the Great Leaders of Tomorrow".
Dennis expressed that to reach any goals, early preparation was the key. “In their young age, teenagers are often busy with their newfound campus life while preparing their future careerso that later they can find their life purpose and define their goals," said the President and Founder of lLifeSmart Publishing.
In front of the students, psychologists, bloggers, and education institution representatives, Dennis mentioned that a person’s success was highly influenced by the person’s character, life purpose, relationships and communication. “Success can’t be defined by money or things," he said. As a writer and mentor committed to preparing young adults to reach their full potential, Dennis hoped that the book he wrote could serve as a comprehensive guide to success.
