Christian Timothy comes from a humble family; his father works in sales and his mother tutors grade school children. Timothy, known as Timmy, received education aid from Putera Sampoerna Foundation to attend Sampoerna Academy in Malang. In 2012 he was awarded the opportunity to study Finance at Texas Tech University.

Timmy is an achiever and is active in various international organizations. During the first four semesters at Texas Tech University, his GPA was 4.00. On a number of occasions, Timmy represented Indonesia in various arenas; UK School Games 2010 in cooperation with the British Council Indonesia, Pacific Rim International Camp 2011 and lastly as a panelist at a conference organized by UNESCO in Jakarta.

Recently, Timmy was selected as one of the top 30 students at the Texas Tech University School of Business, through its business leadership program, which took Timmy along with ten other students to experience business and culture in Brazil and Chile. With different cultural backgrounds, it is there they learned how each country runs a business. Timmy will complete his studies one semester earlier than forecasted. He also had the opportunity to intern at the Department of Equity Research at Credit Suisse during the past summer holidays.

Timmy was the only international student from Indonesia to become a member of Rawls Business Ambassador, and was trusted with the position of Treasurer in 2013. This organization admits only 30 members through a tough selection; that is all members must be academically bright and have the ability to socialize.

Timmy’s organizational activities didn’t stop here; on a higher level, he joined Rawls Business Leadership Program. Of the 60 selected members, Timmy was chosen along with 30 others to go to Brazil and Argentina in the summer of 2016 to develop their leadership skills for two weeks. Once again, Timmy is the only international student in the organization to get this award. Timmy hopes to be a banker one day because of his interest in challenges that exist in investment banking and investment analytics. Even more so after meeting with former Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, Timmy has new goals to continue her work and become Indonesia’s future Minister of Finance.
