SOCIALIZATION OF EDUCATION COSTS ASSISTANCE

SOCIALIZATION OF EDUCATION COSTS ASSISTANCE
By PSF Admin
20 June 2013

Malang, June 20, 2013 –Putera Sampoerna Foundation has a vision to create high caliber future leaders so that a social transformation and economic development of a nation occurs, and this can happen through education. For this reason, “Siswa Bangsa Education Ecosystem” was formed, an educational journey that will guide students to achieve a glorious future starting from high school education, lectures to get a good career. During and after their educational journey they are guided by understanding the values of leadership, entrepreneurship and social responsibility.

We believe that to be the nation’s superior successor in the journey of education must continue from high school with Sampoerna Academy, a high school international standard boarding school, then to a higher education or university level to complete the educational journey; then in order to ensure that students can contribute back to society, this educational journey is also supported by the Siswa Bangsa Cooperative, which completes this entire educational journey.

After graduating from Sampoerna Academy, Putera Sampoerna Foundation ensured that these students received high-quality education. Therefore, through the Siswa Bangsa Cooperative, Putera Sampoerna Foundation provides tuition assistance, an tuition assistance in the form of collateral-free loans to help students continue their higher education in top universities, both in Indonesia and abroad. This return on tuition assistance is carried out through the Siswa Bangsa Cooperative, so that it becomes a revolving fund that will later be used as an aid for education for the next generation who also want to get quality education.

Therefore, Putera Sampoerna Foundation socialized the Education Fee Assistance Program for Sampoerna Academy students and parents / guardians. The following is the explanation of the Putera Sampoerna Foundation from the socialization:

  • There are two contracts that Koperasi Siswa Bangsa socializes to students and parents, namely: First, Education Fee Assistance Agreement; Second, the Agreement to Provide Contributions
  • Students can choose to approve or disagree with the two agreements: Education Fee Assistance Agreement and Agreement to Provide Contributions. Before signing, the Siswa Bangsa Cooperative carried out understanding through socialization and deliberation first in good faith and based on the principle of family
  • The Education Fee Assistance Agreement is a tuition fee assistance from the Siswa Bangsa Cooperative which applies to students who are interested in continuing higher education (university) that are qualified and need assistance with tuition fees. One of the conditions of this agreement is, when the student graduates from college and the student has a job, students will contribute back by returning the tuition assistance obtained during college and agreeing to the Agreement to Provide Contributions
  • The Contribution Provision Agreement is a commitment of Sampoerna Academy students to make a back-up contribution to help their future classmates / generations to come to get quality education at the Sampoerna Academy and get the same opportunities they have today
  • For students who will continue their tertiary education (university) and need tuition assistance from the Siswa Bangsa Cooperative, they are also expected to approve the Contribution Agreement. Thus, after they finished college they committed to contribute back by returning tuition assistance to the Siswa Bangsa Cooperative where it was rolled out and became an educational aid for their classmates who wished to get quality education at Sampoerna Academy
  • Returns for Education Costs and the Ability to Provide Contribution is done after students have completed their education and have adapted to the world of work. In other words, during the education period, students do not need to worry about the cost of education and the contribution
  • For students who continue their level of education and are not interested / do not need Education Fee Assistance from the Koperasi Siswa Bangsa, they will also be offered a Contribution Agreement. However, the Agreement to Provide Contribution is of an appeal, not coercion
  • If students are not interested in Education Fee Assistance and disagree, we only urge to be able to contribute, so we hope in the future, when students have succeeded in becoming leaders of the nation in their fields, they will have their own awareness to make contributions back to help the next class / younger siblings to get quality education and get the same opportunities they have now. Because good leaders are those who want to contribute back to the country

Putera Sampoerna Foundation believes that education is the key to advancing a nation. Therefore, Putera Sampoerna Foundation continues to strive to provide equitable access to outstanding Indonesian students in order to obtain quality education in order to become the leader of a generation of high caliber Indonesians in the future.
